Dorji is a music lover and has worked as a musician and instructor with RAPA for the last 19 years. He resigned from the job five years back and started his own business in making different types of musical instruments. His main motive to start with this venture was to bring back the culture of making traditional Bhutanese musical instruments, which is on the verge of extinction because of globalization. He also teaches music to students and music enthusiasts including foreigners. He makes quality instruments as compared to other producers seen in the craft market. Thus, charges at a higher rate depending on the quality of the product.
