Yeshi Jamtsho is from Shaphangma, Mongar. He completed his high school at Drukgyel Central School. He and his two siblings are being raised by a single mother. His elder sister works as a freelance tour guide but is currently unemployed due to Covid-19 and his younger brother is studying in class 10. Yeshi’s wish to treat his mother’s ailing health encouraged him to pursue medical studies. He has demonstrated his determination and passion to become a health worker by serving as a peer helper who assisted students cope with mental health, addiction and abuse related issues. He achieved 81.25 % in class 12 which earned him a half scholarship to study MBBS. Without the Loden Scholarship, Yeshi would not have been able to cover the rest of his tuition fees and living expenses. He will study MBBS  in Bangladesh.
