Sonam is a sociable, all rounded avid learner from Domkar in Bumthang. She graduated as a school topper at Pelkhil School. Apart from her academic excellence, she is also actively involved in volunteerism and extra-curricular activities. She grew up with an ardent passion to become the 2nd neurosurgeon in Bhutan. Although she received a half-scholarship APEMS she could not bear to put the rest of the financial burden on her unemployed parents given that her four siblings are also dependent on them. As a Loden Scholar, she will be an MBBS student and a step closer to making her dream come true.
