I am Sangay Tshering from Samtse, and I completed my class 12 at Samtse Higher Secondary School. After I completed 10th grade, I couldn’t decide between continuing my education and staying in the village to work as a farmer. However, with some inspiration from friends and support from my family, I decided to join high school and resumed my studies after a year-long break, completing my studies in December 2023. As the new year 2024 began, I lost my father, the only man who had been carrying our family on his tired shoulders. It was a heartbreaking moment for us, and I thought there was no chance for tertiary education for me.

During this time, the Loden Foundation provided a much-needed opportunity by announcing a scholarship for needy students. Out of around 300 applicants, 13 of us were selected to receive the scholarship and pursue higher studies.

I chose to pursue a B.Com with ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) as my higher education path. The ACCA qualification is a globally recognised professional accounting certification that prepares individuals for a career in accounting, finance, and management. My interest in commerce didn't develop overnight; it has been a passion of mine since I first started school. The field of commerce has always fascinated me with its dynamic nature and the critical role it plays in the economic development of a country. I have always aspired to be a part of this vital sector and contribute meaningfully to it. I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to the Loden Foundation for this opportunity.
