Lhakpa Dorji from Gyelekha, Wangdue Phodrang, overcame significant challenges after becoming completely blind in class 10. Despite struggling with severe mental health issues and lacking access to assistive technology, Lhakpa persevered through a period of depression and eventually attended the National Institute for Disability. Learning braille and adapting to new ways of studying, he went on to complete a two-year Certificate in Physiotherapy with distinction at the Royal Institute for Health Science.
Now, with support from the Loden Foundation, Lhakpa is pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Public Health and aims to further his studies with a Postgraduate Diploma in Contemplative Counselling Psychology. His journey reflects his resilience, determination, and passion for helping others.
