Kinzang Dendup

Mymensingh Medical College

My name is Kinzang Dendup, and I am currently studying at Mymensingh Medical College in Bangladesh. I come from Jigmechoeling Gewog in the Sarpang Dzongkhag. Growing up in a poor family, my father, a devout man, and my stepmother, a farmer, faced many hardships. Sadly, I lost my mother to blood loss during childbirth, a tragedy that deeply affected me but also inspired my dedication to medicine to prevent such tragedies for others.

I have three younger stepsisters, and due to a strained relationship with my father, I was raised by relatives and supported by my teachers. Although I was fortunate enough to be selected for the APEMS-MBBS course, I was initially hesitant to accept due to the financial burden it would place on my already struggling family. Fortunately, I discovered that the Loden Foundation was willing to assist students from financially disadvantaged backgrounds, and I applied for support.

Despite the challenges, I am incredibly happy and grateful to have been awarded the Loden Foundation Scholarship. This opportunity motivates me to strive for excellence and to create a better future for myself and those around me.
