Our New Loden Scholars of 2023!

Today, we had the pleasure of welcoming our five new Loden Scholars through an orientation program. We are filled with anticipation and joy as we receive a group of gifted individuals joining our Loden Family!

Loden embodies the essence of intelligence and wisdom while embracing a compassionate Bodhisattva heart;
it encourages you to utilize your education to benefit yourself and others.

Lopen Karma Phuntsho, Founder

During the orientation program, Lopen Karma Phuntsho, the Founder of Loden, shared the following words of wisdom with the scholars:

“Our connection extends beyond the provision of scholarship funding. You have now become an integral part of our Loden Scholar Network, where you can contact us for assistance in various aspects of your life, including academics, emotional well-being, social matters, or financial support. Building a sense of social capital is highly valued, and as Loden Scholars, it is essential to extend support to one another. From this point forward, you are all embraced as cherished members of the Loden Family.”

“Embrace the opportunities that come your way and strive to develop self-discipline and practical time management skills. While prioritizing your studies, engage in meaningful extracurricular activities that enrich your college experience. While earning a degree is essential, the skills, experiences, and knowledge gained through involvement in arts, culture, and other non-academic pursuits are equally vital for personal growth and enhancing your capabilities.”

“Equip yourself for adulthood by nurturing your independence and taking on responsibilities. As you transition from school to college, you will find greater freedom, but learning how to utilize it judiciously is crucial. Balancing your studies with responsible enjoyment is essential. Furthermore, remember that you are now a Loden Ambassador representing our organization at your institution.”

“You must foster both intellectual and social growth. Recognize the distinction between humility and a lack of self-confidence. Never hesitate to ask questions in your classes, as it is through curiosity and a sense of urgency that you continue to learn and develop.”

“Loden embodies the essence of intelligence and wisdom while embracing a compassionate Bodhisattva heart. It encourages you to utilize your education to benefit yourself and others.”

We want to express our heartfelt congratulations to the five individuals awarded the Loden Foundation Scholarships for 2023. We warmly welcome them to the Loden Family.

We would also like to extend our deep gratitude to our funders and dedicated supporters of Loden, who have been instrumental in empowering our students to soar and turn their dreams into reality.
