Pema initially started baking bread using an old European method using natural yeast made from whole wheat flour instead commercial yeast. He baked from home and was giving it to relatives and friends in the beginning and soon enough, word spread and there was a demand for his sourdough breads. Now, with support from Loden, Pema will produce organic baking flours using domestically grown wheat.
Pema’s business ‘Bokpe3’ will help in reducing the import of flowers from other countries and promote the use of domestically grown wheat. He hopes to educate people on the different uses of flour and making these baking flours accessible in the local market. He also aims to promote natural healthy bread made from wheat grains grown domestically.
