Ngawang Tenzin is a spa therapist-turned-farmer. The 41-year-old began his farming journey in 2017. Together with his father, a retired civil servant with experience in the agriculture sector, Ngawang now wants to scale up his farming activities through the Loden-UNDP COVID-19 Response Fund support. The father-son duo has named their farming project Eco-Villa Garden. They will grow vegetables on almost 10 acres of land in Thimphu.

In the wake of the global COVID-19 pandemic, they are committed to producing different varieties of fresh vegetables. The two will use part of the fund support investing in an automated greenhouse that will be equipped with technology to control the temperature for better and higher yield. As a part of his social responsibility, Ngawang will supply vegetables free of cost to selected places, such as temples, monasteries, shelters, in his community.
