Conventionally, Shiitake Mushrooms are cultivated on logs of hardwood, leading to excessive use of oaks from the community forest. “Ley-Kha Mushroom Farm” adopts a better technology to produce Shitake and Oyster mushrooms throughout the year at competitive prices, sawmill waste compiled from lumber waste. Karma Penjor cultivates Shiitake Mushroom on synthetic logs and utilizes agricultural and forest by-products that would otherwise be thrown away. The farm employs 3 local employees.
