Dawa Tshering, leveraging his background in farming and diverse experience in broadcasting, travel, and food production, launched a food production and packaging business in 2020 with one helper. Drawing from guidance by the Post-Harvest Centre and self-research, he employs advanced dehydration technologies like Greenhouse Solar and Infrared Dryers to produce high-quality, nutrient-rich, and long-lasting dehydrated products.

Focusing on premium packaging that meets international standards, Dawa addresses issues like Bhutanese exports being rejected abroad. Within a year, he successfully packaged over 15 varieties of dehydrated vegetables and condiments. His products target the spice market and are supplied to the Bhutan Corner Shop in New York and distributed across Australia. Despite challenges like frequent lockdowns, he has shipped over 475kg of dehydrated vegetables, generating sales of Nu. 7 lakh despite frequent lockdowns in the country.
