Since Lotey was sixteen years old, he has been working in Nepal at a bronze factory. Lotey wishes to produce products like the ones made by the factory in Nepal except in Bumthang. As opposed to importing the finished products, raw materials from Nepal would be imported for production instead. In addition to working with bronze, Lotey creates clay statues considering their comparatively low cost to that of a bronze statue.
His market targets Monasteries and the general public. His prior work experience also includes working on the construction of the Guru Statue at Takila. On the topic of the price of products, he believes that quality is imperative which is why people would be ready to pay higher prices. Currently, he has two full-time employees who help his work.
