New batch of Loden ScholarsPosted on: May 27th, 2015
To commemorate the most exciting occasion of the 60th birth Anniversary of His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo Jigme Singye Wangchuk, Loden Foundation has sponsored a new batch students for higher education for various courses. The selection of students and courses were based on the state priority, academic achievement of students and their strength to pursue the courses they have applied for.
Considering the acute shortage of medical professionals in the country, Loden has financed four students to pursue courses related to health and medicine and one for environmental studies. By supporting new batch of students mostly in the medical sector, Loden hopes to create a pool of medical professionals in the future to cater to wider sections of society.
The Loden’s Founder & President Dr. Karma Phuntsho interacted with the students and advised them on the human values and contributions they should make to the society after their graduation. The president also emphasized on the importance of their disciplinary conducts as a student to ensure successful completion of their education.
With the new group of students, Loden has supported a total of 20 students in higher education both within and outside the country.
