A 32 minutes documentary film portraying the emergence of entrepreneurial culture in Bhutan was screened in Paris, France on 7th of February. The Amis Du Bhoutan (http://amisdubhoutan.fr/) and Loden Foundation organized the exclusive screening for the friends of Bhutan coinciding with the Annual General Assembly of Amis Du Bhoutan. The honorable ambassador of Bhutan to Brussels, Dasho Sonam Tshong, graced the event, which was attended 35 participants.
Another similar screening was organized at the office of Prince’s Youth Business Internationals (YBI), UK (www.youthbusiness.org) on 31 January 2014. The Loden Foundation is the network member from Bhutan to Youth Business Internationals and benefits from the wide range of expertise and resources form YBI.
The screening of the documentary film abroad is aimed at introducing Bhutan into the global world although the primary goal of the film was to inspire aspiring entrepreneurs in Bhutan. The director for the entrepreneurship programme, Mr Gerard Tardy and the executive director of Loden, Mr Dorji Tashi were present at the events for Q&A sessions.
The documentary film was screened in the China, Tibet, Nepal, UK and France since its launch in Bhutan during the Global Entrepreneurship Week in 2013. The entrepreneurship program was launched in 2008 in the attempt to curb rising youth unemployment and promote ethical entrepreneurial culture in Bhutan. Total of 65 entrepreneurial ventures were supported to date, which are spread across 16 districts of the country.
The program is geared towards promoting ethical entrepreneurial culture in Bhutan ultimately aiming at contributing to the sustainable socio-economic development of Bhutan.
