Loden Foundation Scholarship 2020

Dear students,

Every year, Loden Foundation provides scholarships for young Bhutanese to pursue undergraduate studies both within and outside Bhutan.

We know that graduating from high school, often referred to in Bhutan as the ‘turning point,’ is the most crucial phase of your life and it can be quite stressful. Therefore, we are delighted to share the following scholarships for this year:

    1. Loden-RTC scholarship to pursue undergraduate degree at Royal Thimphu College
    2. Loden general scholarship for undergraduate courses within or outside Bhutan
    3. Loden apprenticeship programme for diploma and certificate courses

If you are considering to apply for our scholarship, you must clearly explain your personal ambition, choice of subject/course and financial need. Remember, we are looking to support students who demonstrate strength in the specific field of study, economic need and pursue degrees or courses, which can fill employment gaps in Bhutan. This year, studies in the field of mental health are strongly encouraged.

This is a programme to build capacity and confidence of young people. Therefore, students who use parents or other senior relatives to make inquiries or apply on their behalf will lose points in the selection process.

We strongly encourage you to use our online platforms to reach out to use if you have any questions regarding the scholarship and refrain from visiting our office in person.

We wish you all the best of luck!

Thanking you,

Yours truly,

Phuntsho Namgay

Executive Director
