Loden Entrepreneruship Crash Course in S/JongkharPosted on: April 26th, 2016
As part of Loden’s entrepreneurship education programme, a two-day crash course was organized for the first time in Sumdrup Jongkhar on 23 and 24 April 2016. It was their modest attempt to give equal opportunities to the aspiring entrepreneurs residing outside of the capital city of Thimphu.
During the two days of training, participants were introduced to the basic concepts of entrepreneurship, starting from spotting of business opportunities and evaluating business opportunities to interpersonal competencies required to become successful entrepreneurs. The crash course also trained the participants on maintaining of basic books of accounts, understanding their market and marketing principles.
The programme is purely aimed at encouraging young Bhutanese men and women, especially out-of-school youth to take up entrepreneurship as their alternative career option. The regional Trade office of Ministry of Economic Affairs and Ministry of Labour and Human Resources assisted Loden to mobilize the participants. The officials form the two offices talked to the participants on employment scenario in Bhutan and opportunities & support services from the government for aspiring entrepreneurs.
The training will be followed by call for proposals in early May from the aspiring entrepreneurs. A similar crash course and a more intensive workshop on entrepreneurship will be organized in Thimphu in November, 2016.
