Incense factory owner wins Entrepreneur AwardPosted on: December 8th, 2014
A monk from Beyul Langdrak monastery, Lama Sonam Gyatsho, who runs an incense factory with his team in Wangduephodrang, won the Best Loden Entrepreneur Award, 2014. The award comes with a cash prize of Nu 100,108 and a trophy.
Opposition Leader presented the award at the concluding ceremony of the Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) on November 22.
A brainstorming session on the last day of the GEW brought together established businesspersons, entrepreneurs, experts and young people to put together a list of priority challenges and recommendations for vibrant entrepreneurial culture in Bhutan.
The outcome will be submitted to the government and Prime Minister for information and necessary action.
Organised by the Loden Foundation along with five other partner organisations, the week long event saw over 170 participants attending the workshops, training and discussions conducted by over 60 resource persons from the business world, international organisations, academia and civil society organisations. The country also observed the Women Entrepreneurship Day on 19 November.
