GEW in Bhutan Kicks off in the capital city of ThimphuPosted on: November 17th, 2015
Bhutan joined 160 countries across the world to observe the Global Entrepreneurship Week in the capital city of Thimphu. The event organised jointly by the Loden Foundation, Ministry of Labour and Human Resources and Bhutan Innovation and Technology Centre aims at promoting the culture of innovation and enterprise and to raise the awareness of entrepreneurship.
His Excellency Lyonpo Yeshey Dorji, the minister for Ministry for Agriculture and Forest who graced the opening occasion as a Chief Guest said, there is a growing need for greater awareness of entrepreneurship as nations economic prosperity is defined by the vigour of entrepreneurial culture and business enterprises.
The event attempts to introduce the basic concepts of entrepreneurship to total beginners, deliver ideas and skills to those on the journey of entrepreneurship and promote social responsibility and ethical practices, which are respectful of our nature and cultures.
A weeklong event will bring together experts, entrepreneurs, thinkers, policy makers and NGOs to discuss, debate and educate on various issues pertaining to entrepreneurship. This is also an occasion to acknowledge and reward the most successful entrepreneurs. A total of 150 participants have registered for this special program.
