Chokey Wangmo

CoffeeCat Cafe

Chokey aims to set up a café in Gelephu that will provide high-quality coffee made by an experienced barista who returned from overseas employment during the covid-19 pandemic. Aside from free WiFi and reading materials, CoffeeCat café will provide a space where customers can socialize and engage in healthy conversations.

In her research, Chokey found that many residents of Gelephu are stressed and anxious, so she hopes to establish a café that prioritizes customers’ mental wellbeing.

Chokey is supported through the Loden-UNDP COVID-19 Response Fund II that was targeted to provide livelihood skills and business support to vulnerable groups during the COVID-19 pandemic. This is a joint initiative between Loden Foundation, UNDP Bhutan, Bhutan YDF, and RENEW.
