The Loden Entrepreneurship Programme was launched in 2008 to help young people realize their dreams by providing them training, moral and technical support and initial funds to start new business enterprise
For its sixth year, Loden Foundation will be organizing its business competition amongst the young Bhutanese men and women aged between 25 and 40. The programme shall support wide range of entrepreneurial ventures that are feasible in today’s market and help generate employment. The projects are expected to follow our ethical, cultural and ecological policies.
The top 12-15 business projects will receive interest free loans for executing their business ideas. The size of the fund will range from 1.5 lakhs to 1.5 million Ngultrums but the amount offered will depend on the proposed business project. We have a policy to support only businesses which are ethical and culturally and ecologically conducive for Bhutan. Businesses which can generate employment and are located outside Thimphu are encouraged.
The business applications will be evaluated by an independent panel of judges comprised of international and local business experts and members of the LEP board. About one-fourth of the applications will be shortlisted for interviews by mid October 2013. The interview of the shortlisted applicants will take place at the Loden office in Thimphu sometime in November, 2013. Loden will disburse capital funds to the selected candidates soon after the final results are announced upon fulfilling necessary prerequisites.
NEW: For the first time this year, Loden will also be participating in the Creative Business Cup which is the world championship for creative entrepreneurs. Among the different LEP projects which will be shortlisted , a especially creative and innovative business proposal will be nominated for the international Creative Business Cup competition which will be taking place from November 18 to 23, 2013 in Copenhagen, Denmark.
The interested applicants must submit:
1. A detailed business plan
2. An executive summary of it in no more than 2000 words
3. Curriculum Vitae and relevant transcripts
4. Cover letter explaining why you are interested in this business
